News reporter

To become a news reporter you must be blue to talk in front of a camera. You also need to be entertaining and make people want to watch you. You also need to be able to think on your feet. You must be able to read the script off a card or notes on your desk efficiently.

Some news reporters have to write their own script for there own story's they come up with. To get a job of a news reporter you must get a lot of air time. All news reporters are required to be on tv at least once in his/her career. The information you give or talk about must be true or accurate. If you are a weather reporter your report has to be at least 90% true.

Hypothesis v. Theory v. Law

Hypothesis, Theories, and Laws are three different, but related things. You start with your hypothesis. With enough evidence, that hypothesis can become a theory. Then, if your theory is proven enough times and there is no other possible way, your theory can be made a law. A hypothesis is an idea. A theory, well, it's an idea that has enough evidence to back it up. A law is a fact that came from a theory.
Take the Law of Gravity for example. Isaac Newton didn't just know this was true. He saw an apple fall and that made him wonder why it fell exactly. So, he made a hypothesis that there was some type of force pulling things toward the ground. He did his research, conducted a few experiments, and once his work became a reliable source, it became a theory. A theory that something like gravity was pulling things toward the center of the earth. After we knew for certain that there was a force, and there was no other explanation, a law was formed; the Law of Gravity.

Chemical Properties and Reactions

There are many elements, each separated into their appropriate group and period. Groups, also known as families, are elements that have the same properties. Periods symbolize the element’s valence electrons. Going from right to left, the Alkali Metals are the most reactive, Noble gases being the least.
Each element has chemical properties when combined with another element or substance. A few are odor change, color change, temperature, and precipitate. An example of odor change is when iron and vinegar are mixed; it gives off a sulfur type scent.

Many different chemicals react differently to each other such as sodium and Chlorine. One is unstable will the other is toxic, yet when put together, they form NaCl which is table salt. Whenever cornstarch and water is combined it forms a substance called a Non-Newtonian fluid. A Non-Newtonian fluid is when the substance is in a liquid state as well as a solid state at the same time. ~ Dr. Professor Patrick
